A consultancy and a brokerage — built by the same people who'd been let down by both.

Quantum started around a kitchen table, but the story goes back decades. One of our founders grew up inside an asset-based carrier built and owned by his father — learning dispatch, driver management and the economics of running trucks long before it was a career. From there he moved into project logistics and 4PL work, sourcing and engineering moves for super loads — wind turbine components, transformers, full plant relocations — and vetting the specialty contractors needed to deliver them for top OEMs, utilities and EPC firms. With a Management Information Systems background and time spent as a Safety Director, he also leads our systems sourcing, implementation, training and customer integrations — wiring up tracking, EDI, TMS and WMS platforms so 80% of the repetitive workload is automated. The goal is simple: fewer hands chasing status updates, a leaner team, and a proactive operation instead of a reactive one. Efficiency is the product.

That father is our second founder — and still our anchor on the asset side. As the sole owner of one of the largest privately held carriers in South Carolina, he built the business from the ground up and brings decades of fleet ownership, dispatch, maintenance, safety and P&L leadership to Quantum. Beyond the trucks, he's a true power broker in the state — the kind of operator who can consult on starting up a business from scratch and, with a single phone call, line up materials, storage space, legal counsel or a direct line into the DOT. When something needs to happen quickly, his network makes it happen.

Our third founder came up on the commercial side: a senior sales leader who spent years deep in brokerage and picked up real consulting chops along the way. Three operators, three angles on the same problem — and the same frustration that the asset, the brokerage and the strategy were almost never sitting at the same table.

Quantum was built to fix that. The asset-based owner anchors capacity and equipment. The commercial lead anchors customer strategy and brokered coverage. The projects side brings consulting, project management, carrier vetting, systems implementation, training, integrations and deep FMCSA/DOT Auditing and fluency all the way up to super-load permitting or route feasibility studies. The result is a project-consulting firm with an in-house brokerage and a direct sister company of owned assets one organization engineered to squeeze efficiency out of every layer of the move. 

Today we manage freight for clients in manufacturing, renewable energy, automotive, food & beverage and everything in between across North America — with a small, senior team that prefers fewer accounts done well.
